Port and Starbird was created out of a passion for sewing, a love of fabrics and the desire to share these with others. I’ve been creating under this brand since 2013. The name came from my years of growing up at the the Jersey shore and spending weekends on the water with my grandparents. My grandmother taught me how to sew and their home was my second home, so I knew I wanted to honor those memories in my brand. If I’m not sewing and creating and I am spending time with my family, my amazing husband, Dan and our dogs.

It was when our daughter was one year old that we decided to create the Soina brand, an anagram of the names of our two children, Sohan and Inaya. We realized that learning our daughter to eat would be complicated, after a few dozen dishes on the floor. Of course, we looked for the best thing to buy for her, keeping our tastes in line. We realized that the design of the current products on the market was not suitable for us. We were looking for a system that would prevent it from falling, with a material that was safe and unbreakable, but also with a real touch of elegance.
