Hutzler Mfg, including the gourmet division, Gourmac, is a multigenerational family-owned business. We got our start in 1938 when Lothar Hutzler arrived as a new immigrant to the United States. Instead of using metal like stainless steel, which was unavailable due to the war effort, Lothar began molding basic housewares from plastic - something that had never been done before! Hutzler was the first to create cookie cutters, funnels, and even a 4-sided grater from plastic. Since then, our extended family has become experts and innovators in plastic kitchenwares. We have a rich history of designing and producing unique housewares that stand the test of time and lead to a more sustainable lifestyle. JBK Pottery began in Calgary, Alberta, Canada in 1979 by Jim Kalbfleisch from his passion for making pottery. Many changes have occurred through the various decades in the employee / artisans and in the various products produced. Competition from imports have driven innovation and changes in product mix. In August of 2018 Jim sold the business assets to the current owner and transferred assets to the United States, where the JBK Pottery products are now made. We are still dedicated to producing quality and functional products for your enjoyment.

We began when artisan Tim McGuire met his wife Molly. Tim was already a woodworker but it wasn't until he started making spoons and serving-ware for his family to use that it really gave his business a soul. Now we carve everything for kitchen+home+lifestyle from ethically harvested urban lumber. Our handcarved items are finished in our signature Spoon Butta olive oil + beeswax blend. First in Bamboo: Over 20 Years of Innovation! The story of Totally Bamboo began in a land of stories… well, just north of it. Tom and Joanne Sullivan owned Hollywood Chairs in North Hollywood, supplying directors chairs to top movie and television productions. In a quest to improve upon their famously comfortable foldable chairs, the Sullivans began experimenting with other material options. They wanted something lighter than their existing oak chairs yet still strong enough to last through the production of a blockbuster picture (and its inevitable sequels). After exhaustive research, they found one material fit the bill better than any other — bamboo! Bamboo has a higher tensile strength than steel, yet is light enough for anyone to easily carry. Not only is bamboo a better material option, but it’s better for the planet too. When harvested, bamboo's roots remain and quickly regenerate. It’s a truly remarkable and renewable resource. The success of bamboo in chairs led Tom and Joanne to consider other uses for this amazing material. They used their combined art and design backgrounds to invent the FIRST bamboo cutting board. This cutting board crafted from “engineered bamboo,” was light and durable, harder than maple yet gentle on knives. With this brilliant innovation, Totally Bamboo was born! Totally Bamboo has continued to innovate since the inception of the bamboo cutting board and offers masterfully crafted solutions in a wide variety of home and gift categories.

Natural OliveWood is a family-owned business that handcrafts kitchenware from non-productive olive trees. Born and raised in Sfax, Tunisia, brothers Hatem and Walid Alimi learned the art of carving the trunks of olive trees as children. Today, the Alimi brothers (and family) produce naturally beautiful kitchen products, all boasting the distinct swirling patterns of the trees’ twisted trunks. Nonporous by nature and coated in a protective layer of olive oil, Natural OliveWood products are safe and sustainable.

Zulay Kitchen is named after my extraordinary mother, Zulay. She was raised in poverty-stricken Venezuela and, against all odds, brought my brother and me to live in the US. As a single mother, she worked extra-long hours but still found time to cook healthy meals for us. At the time, I thought nothing of it. But now that I'm married with children of my own, I see how much of a super-hero mom she really was. My wife and I created Zulay Kitchen to make shopping easier than ever in today's busy world. Tuckahoe Hardwoods was started by brothers George and Johnny Dent in 2004 out of an old farmhouse on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. After developing our wood business in Maryland over the next several years, we started doing some sustainable forestry consulting projects in Indonesia. We had an opportunity to expand by opening our own furniture shop in Central Java, where we received our “Indonesia Green Wood” Certification, and we use only sustainably sourced woods for all of our products. We have always focused on attention to detail and establishing long-lasting relationships with an added emphasis on complete customer satisfaction. The magic and beauty of olive wood fascinated me in 2010. In the small mountain village of Carcasonne in southern France on the way to Spain. People queued up in front of a small shop. We went in and saw the beautiful olive wood and the people who were fascinated by it. The idea was born! We looked for and found partners in the Mediterranean region. First, we set up a small business. But soon we also got into production and created and offered our own products because we had more and more requests for individual products and new ideas. Today, our team consists of just under 50 people.
