Sawyer's Mill was started out of necessity. In 2014, my wife was diagnosed with stage 4 colorectal cancer. With no family history and the fact that she was otherwise in top physical condition, we were both shocked. She, a successful realtor and mother of our three children and I, sales manager over a giftware company realized that we needed to make some hard decisions. My travel needed to be curtailed for the foreseeable future so that I could be close for her and our kids. As such, I began experimenting on a project that I had little time for previously. While she was resting from seemed like an endless routine of doctors, radiation and chemotherapy treatments, I was in the basement attempting to find a way to print on wood without the use of a cost prohibitive, UV printer. Two years passed. We had good days and bad days but the good were great and the bad... not too bad. Thanks to the good doctors, staff and volunteers at M.D. Anderson, I am so thankful in saying that she has been cancer free for 10 years! Along the way, I finally did achieve my goal as well. Nine years and several thousand signs later, Sawyer's Mill, Inc. has grown more than either of us could have imagined. Still family owned and operated, we are thankful to all of our friends, family and customers.
