I used to ride my bike home at lunchtime in grade school to capitalize on my mom’s delicious home cooking. I’d return to school and take snack orders for my buddies through the playground fence and rush to the local convenience store for the loot. This early discovery of (snack) food led to my realization that plain pistachios seemed pretty boring. So after much spice cabinet raiding and recipe doctoring, The Gilded Nut Snack Co. was born. We buy our jumbo pistachios from small California farms that let them ripen on the tree, so the nuts open naturally. We coat our roasted pistachios in extra virgin olive oil before tossing them in whole herb and spice blends. The result is crunchy, flavorful snack perfection. It’s a bonus that pistachios are cholesterol free, heart-healthy and rich in protein and fiber. Your taste buds will love them, and your body will be grateful. Around the clock nibbling is on the rise, yet junk food still outnumbers healthy snacks. With the spike in childhood and adult obesity, we’re promoting the fact that ingredients matter.
