It began with a design for a knuckle-to-shoulder glove designed to protect my hands and arms in sunny Boulder, Colorado. All of my friends seemed to want a pair. Today, éclipse has evolved into a full line of stylish urban tech clothing and accessories, manufactured sustainably and locally in small batches. éclipse is about freedom in simplicity. Paring down, streamlining, divesting your life of things that no longer serve you. This allows more space, mentally and physically, and therefore more freedom. Our clothes are made in small batches locally, you might call it slow fashion. Instead of flooding the market place with a vast excess of cheaply made clothing that goes out of fashion in a season, éclipse focusses on well-made, durable clothing of classic designs that are made to last. By keeping manufacture local in Colorado, we reduce the carbon footprint of manufacture, support local jobs contribute to the community in which we live. éclipse clothing is made of highest quality 37.5® performance fabric, which manages your body temperature, by precisely absorbing and releasing moisture. The fabric offers a luxury feel and a flattering design so you can wear éclipse from yoga or skiing to dinner. I founded this company because I was tired of being weighed down by discomfort, I needed gear for life, and I wasn’t willing to sacrifice my silhouette. As a 34DDD curvy woman, I struggled for years with aching shoulders, tension headaches, and posture issues from my underwire bras. Fed up with pain and discomfort, and disappointed with alternative bra options on the market, I left behind a high-potential career in finance to invent a better way. We are Valeria and Camila, the Miel Sisters. Born and raised in sunny Colombia, we have loved fashion ever since we were little girls sneaking into our stylish mother’s closet. After living and studying in Florida and Australia, we landed in Montreal. Travelling has always been a source of inspiration and we thrive on the vivid colors of South America, the active lifestyles of Miami and Sydney, and the chic je ne sais quoi of Montreal. As sisters and best friends who work, play and exercise together, we faced the same problem: how to stay fresh and comfortable from morning to night, without having to change underwear a million times. And so we set out to find a solution for busy women always on the go. We aimed to design the best “every day” bras and panties for active and stylish women. We focused on seamless designs, elegant cuts and lightweight antimicrobial fabrics. We use natural plant based antimicrobial protection in our designs that inhibits the growth of bacteria and keeps us fresh all day, every day! We have built our business one step at a time. I created D’s Off-Shoulder Straps for my personal use after trying a web hack and realized I could make something better. After testing many different straps and clips, I found the most comfortable and reliable combination. Once I saw how good they worked, I thought other women need these too!
