Each bag is inspected for quality crochet work. We check for common errors and choose only the best of the best. 2. Lombia employs +150 full-time artisans. We are always creating and designing fun new things with our master artisans. 3. Wayuu bags 97% female-made. And for many communities, these bags are their main income. We provide mentorship + training for Wayuu women managing their team of artisans so they can offer better pay and improve on quality. 4. Wayuu bags is a dying art. As younger generations move to the city, less indigenous women choose to live from the art of crochet. To keep the practice alive, we purchase Wayuu bags above market price to encourage artisans to continue their craft.
