Stephanie Fornash Kennedy launched the FORNASH brand after vacationing in the Caribbean. The bright colors and richness of the tropics fueled her passion for design and style. Upon her arrival back to Washington D.C., she began designing custom handbags. In November 2002, six months after Stephanie sold her first custom handbag, she opened the FORNASH boutique in Georgetown. In August 2003, she introduced FORNASH for the first time to retail buyers at Accessories the Show in New York City. Today, retailers can shop her collection at several tradeshows around the country. As the wholesale business continued to grow, Stephanie broadened the FORNASH line with scarves and clothing, but jewelry was the runaway success. A pivotal moment for the FORNASH brand occurred in December 2009, when the FORNASH Boa Scarf was featured in Oprah’s magazine on her coveted “O List”. This publicity instantly gave FORNASH national brand recognition, new fans and new clients. The secret was out!

Having spent half my formative years in the woods of Georgia and the other half in Los Angeles, my creative musings are a balance of earthy ruggedness and refined big city modernity. My last name comes from my Dutch ancestors and means "of the hills." I am an artist, not a brand. Every piece you receive is crafted by my hands alone. I like to make as much from scratch as possible, such as my signature ear wires. I source materials from suppliers who emphasize ethical practices, and I am committed to minimizing the amount of waste produced from my own small studio. All of your lovely orders are shipped plastic-free. When I'm not in my studio, I like to be outdoors as much as possible. My yard is filled with curious creatures, a vegetable garden, and a growing native plant collection. I am passionate about preserving the unique biodiversity of the Appalachian mountains, and about supporting local food systems. I donate annually to organizations in my area that focus in these areas.

Dafna is a fiber artist and jewellery maker from Toronto, Canada. After over 20 years working in retail virtual merchandising, she decided it was time to take a leap and start her own business. It started out as a hobby, but quickly became a full time gig, when her knotted jewellery became a hit and couldn't keep up with the demand. Dafna likes to discover new designs by playing around with different styles of knots and ropes. Dafna uses only 100% recycled cotton rope. Her rope is sourced from a supplier in Poland that uses recycled cotton fabrics to weave and create the rope. No dyes or chemicals are used in the process and is OEKO TEX approved.
