Coming home; it means something different to everyone. We all know that feeling, though, when a smell or taste takes us back to a happy place or time. Salem, Oregon is that place for me. I have been gone for 35 years and recently came home to settle in Portland, Oregon. I have visited Salem and oh, how it has changed! The house on Silverton Rd., which I once thought of as home, is no longer standing. But every time I smell a yellow rose, I think of Grandpa's rose bushes. Carroll used to cut the perfect rose for "Ma" and place it on our round kitchen table. The room would smell amazing! This is home. We have set out to create State pride shirts which go beyond the iconic designs every state has. We hope to bring people closer together, sharing in traditions that make you proud of from where you come. After all, home is where your story begins.

I was seventeen years old and getting in the most popular boy at schools truck for a ride home. As I climbed in, my skirt got stuck in my backpack, exposing my “nylon butt.” You know, when a girls’ rear end is smushed into a pair of high-waisted nylon tights. I quickly jerked my skirt free and hopped in the truck, but the thought that he had seen me at my unflattering worst horrified me.* That day, I decided I never wanted to be humiliated like that again. So I went out looking for something fun to wear on my legs that didn’t pinch my waist and make me look like a stuffed sausage. But all I could find were those traditional thigh-high stockings, the super thin ones that run if you look at them the wrong way and come in only the most boring colors. I never found this thigh-high I dreamed of, but the idea was always there; I even knew I wanted to name them something fun and, well, “kicky” like my mom used to say whenever we wore something cute and sassy. Here is what I believe: we want to feel good about ourselves. We don’t want to be crammed in a pair of tights with the dreaded “muffin” top poking out for the world to see. Hi friends! My name is Jillian, and it was a dream of mine to start a business with my daughter, Emslee, because I sensed at a young age that she would be an entrepreneur boss babe. In the summer of 2021, we found the perfect creative outlet, and we went out and bought a printer and a press to start printing tees in our laundry room. Within a few months, I went full-time working this business, eventually moved to a bigger space, and God has blessed our family in so many ways. We now have an additional full-time employee and print apparel for businesses and churches across the country in addition to having retail customers in almost every state. We are currently in the application process for licensing for both The University of Alabama and Auburn University.
