Rontonar Aceites is me, Michelangelo. I take care of my family's olive trees that have been passed down from generation to generation and recovering abandoned land. I fight for agriculture based on respect for the Earth. Following the wisdom inherited from my elders, I grow native varieties. The plots where Rontonar Oil is produced are inserted in a rich Mediterranean mountain mosaic, in one of the best preserved areas of the province of Alicante. In addition, some features of our production make us particularly peculiar: • We grow traditional and local varieties, an invaluable genetic and cultural heritage. • • They are plots in strict rainfed land, only fed by snowfall, rains and mists. • We do not use pesticides, fertilizers or any synthetic chemical fertilizer. • Our 32 plots are very small (rarely exceed half a hectare) and are scattered among areas of natural vegetation, so they act as natural firewalls. • All farms have groundcovers to prevent erosion, improve soil fertility and promote biodiversity. • The plots are surrounded by boundaries rich in tree, shrub and herbaceous species, an invaluable shelter and food source for biodiversity. • The packaging of our oils is recyclable. • We collaborate with other entities to better understand our crop, our environment and reduce our footprint.
