About Takasa

Experience the Takasa touch – Gentle on skin, kind to Earth. Create a change to the homes of your health and sustainability conscious clients with Takasa. We offer premium bed and bath linens that are functional, safe, caring, and authentically certified. All natural processes and dyes are used in the making of Takasa bedding and bath products. We know that toxic dyes and chemicals used in farming are harmful to the earth and to the people who come into contact with them. Our environment is fragile and the choices we make today will impact what is left of this earth for generations to come. All of our bed and bath linens are audited and certified by the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) and Fairtrade Canada. Reviewed by over 500 satisfied customers, used by HGTV Interior Designers, Architects and featured in Elle, Men's Journal, Apartment Therapy, Bloomberg Green and many well-known publications, our products are creating change in peoples homes and well being and we are being noticed for it. Takasa is a British Columbia Benefit Company, based in Vancouver, and the first Canadian company to craft bed and bath linens certified by both GOTS organic and Fairtrade Cotton. Takasa’s product lifecycle is measured from seed to final delivery and environmental footprint is offset through various local and global projects. At Takasa, we want to make it easier for everyone to make socially and environmentally conscious choices without compromising on comfort.

House of Jude

House of Jude was borne out of a love of Turkish towels and a need for a cozy towel for baby Jude! Our founder, Kristina, always adored wrapping herself in Turkish towels, known as peshtemals. They are super soft and absorbent, and they dry quickly making them naturally antibacterial. They roll up to be quite compact so they are perfect for the pool and for traveling. Wanting these towels for her precious little baby, Jude, Kristina set out to find a hooded baby towel made from this traditional Turkish weave but they were nowhere to be found. Before House of Jude, Turkish towels were seemingly only enjoyed by beach goers and interior designers. That's where House of Jude came to be - we made Turkish towels functional and accessible for families. Our towels are ethically made by hand in Turkey. And as a tree-hugging, granola-crunching family, we had no doubt that they were to be made with ultra soft, and environmentally friendly bamboo and Turkish cotton. Cotton grown in Turkey is of the best in the world - the superior growing conditions (more rainy days than sunny days) mean less water and few or no pesticides.

Piglet in Bed

Karate chopped cushions and seriously starched sheets are not really our thing. At Piglet in Bed, creases are not the enemy. Wasting your one precious life on things like plucking, plumping and fluffing is. Life is for LIVING. And so are our products. Made to be thrown over before you snuggle under. Made to be chucked on so you can switch off and cut to cosy. Made to be low maintenance so you can concentrate on making memories. They’re made for living. I started Piglet in 2017 from my mother's West Sussex garden shed with my fingers crossed that I wasn't alone in looking for high quality basics for my home that are as cosy as they are beautiful. We started tiny with just linen duvet covers and pillowcases in a few calming colours and have since grown the brand to include sleepwear, loungewear, table linens, curtains and more. It has been such an exciting journey so far and a real joy to work alongside such a fun and hard working team! A year into the Piglet journey we outgrew the garden shed and have been growing ever since. Our wonderful team mostly works remotely but we love to get together when we can for a country walk and a catch up. We now also have a secondary base of operation in the United States to help our business to keep up with growing demand for our linens in North America.

Blaynk

The fabrics most of us wrap ourselves in everyday have been treated with countless chemicals (yep, even the organic ones). Blaynk baby fabrics and bed sheets are made with just three things: organic cotton, harvested rainwater for processing, and wind powered factories. Nothing else. We grew up in and around the fabric industry. After years spent examining the manufacturing and seeing its chemical underbelly, we knew there had to be a higher standard for the fabrics that surround our lives. So: We got to work on a way better way to make bed sheets and baby fabrics. The final product is a win-win-win: for you, your baby and the planet.
