About Red Giraffe Designs
Red Giraffe Designs (or RGD for short) is a Columbus, Ohio based jewelry studio and boutique owned and operated by Kate Stevens along with her husband Jeff. After graduating from college and having difficulties finding a job during the recession, Kate discovered her love of jewelry making at just the right time. She dabbled in various creative outlets before stumbling upon a YouTube video about wire wrapping. Having zero jewelry making experience, she decided then and there that she was going to make a pair of earrings. Borrowing some tools from her Dad, she created her first pair of wire-wrapped, beaded hoops and was immediately hooked! Following her entrepreneurial spirit, Kate slowly grew her self-taught hobby into a full time business out of her home. Over the years, she developed a strong community following by participating in various craft shows and markets before opening her first storefront in 2015, located in the heart of the Short North Arts District of Columbus. From there, RGD experienced rapid growth and support, now consisting of 3 brick and mortar locations around central Columbus, a private studio / office space and a team of around 15 amazing women - most of whom have been trained in Kate's jewelry making techniques, as the storefronts also function as studios! Team RGD works to create unique, high-quality pieces within an affordable price range - with the hope that hand-crafted design work can be accessible to all that are interested!
