What began in 2013 in a little apartment in south Minneapolis between college friends, with little more than a handful of beautiful fabrics we acquired while traveling through New York City, soon sparked what would become Mill City Fineries. Born out of a passion for hand-making small-batch menswear accessories in our home state of Minnesota, we continue to travel the world to personally acquire the most unique, high quality, and in many instances vintage and limited-edition fabrics. From the small-batch bow ties, neckties, pocket squares and scarves available in our shop and curated collections offered by our select retail partners, to bespoke pieces for weddings, small groups, and special events, each piece is made by hand by ourselves and a small band of artisans in Minneapolis.

Luke Greek name (Loukas): Bringer of light Luke Shades started with an idea Back in 2012 while lifeguarding on the East coast. When Luke returned home in September he made his first pair. Since then he spends his winters back in the Midwest developing, testing, and personally handcrafting each pair of Luke Shades before returning back to the sunny shores of the East coast. Hi y’all! I am just a southern small town girl, and ever since I was a child I’ve always had a love for candles, whether it was lighting them for the flicker of the flame or lighting them for aromas… I could never get enough. One day it was brought to my attention just how toxic these candles were for me and my family’s health. So there I went to do extensive research. Two years ago I decided to make a change, and my goal was to burn only natural, non-toxic candles. Thinking these candles would be easy to find, but it was actually very difficult to find in my small town. There I turned from a candle lover to a candle creator. I started my two year long journey of research, testing, and hand picking the perfect clean wax, essential oils, fragrance oils and so much more (and believe me there are thousands of combinations) to get my perfect candle, that’s when my brand The Twisted Wick was born. I started with small vendor markets and farmer markets, and my town grew to love my all natural candles. So now I feel it is time to expand and share my knowledge and my hand poured creations in other cities and states for others to enjoy just as much as I do. She thought it would add more movement to the pictures instead of clients holding a cardboard sign with words on them.
