I'd offer you a cup of chai, but physical objects don't navigate the digital landscape successfully, so you'll just have to pretend while I drink from this real mug (assuming one of my three children hasn't stolen or knocked it over). Creating has been a constant thread in my life; from making DMC floss friendship bracelets with my younger sister to sell to our childhood mailman, (thanks, mailman, for ALWAYS buying our stuff) to creating jewelry with copper wires, glass beads, and other adulty items (no offense DMC floss) as a legit business (which attracted people other than our childhood mailman!). Then, one day, I had an idea to try something different: bobby pins. They sold out on the first day. It didn't take long to realize that my bobby pins were a super fun and affordable way for people to express themselves and, as a bonus, gave them an extra boost of confidence. I had stumbled upon a way that I could help people feel beautiful and confident in a world where expressing yourself is increasingly tricky or expensive. I love to hear my customer's stories about sneaking in their fun personality with bobby pins because they can't have fun hair or tattoos at work (fortunately I allow that because I’m my boss). How cool is that? A little self-expression goes a long way.

What is The Pine Torch? A mother in an ancient Latin poem reminds her daughter to "bind thy brow with flowers / pound the ground with thy feet / shake with thy hand the pine torch." The symbol of illumination, the instrument of a wayshower, the beacon of light held by someone courageous enough to light the path even in darkness. Our brand is an amalgamation of biting humor, ethereal imagery, unabashed truth-telling, and a nod to the feminine divine. This potent recipe inspires, activates, and illuminates through original, handmade products that tell a story. All of our print items are designed, printed and packaged by our own hands in a small-batch process here in Arizona. We use non-toxic inks and a Direct to Garment (DTG) printer to give customers the best quality print on the market. We also occasionally do small batches of screened items locally for specialty designs. Each piece is custom printed to order with love using a proprietary process that we've perfected in-house to get amazing detail and vibrant, lasting color on the softest, coziest tees and apparel.

Hello! I’m Christina, the owner of Plum Polka Dot. I live just outside of Vancouver, BC with my husband and three children who are the light of my life and the inspiration behind my shop. Long before I decided to launch my own line of handcrafted accessories, known as Plum Polka Dot, I knew that I had a knack for all things creative and crafty. When I wasn’t working for a major Canadian retailer at both the store and corporate level, I was often found creating one-of-a-kind, handmade gifts for friends and family for Christmas, birthdays and other special occasions. In 2008, my husband and I welcomed our twin sons into the world and quickly became accustomed to life with two boisterous boys. But everything changed when our baby daughter, Julia, joined the family nearly five years later. I soon fell in love with outfitting our ‘little miss’ in beautiful garments and accessories, and was particular about sourcing locally produced, premium quality designs. Unsuccessful in my search, and armed with a decade of experience in customer service, purchasing and supply chain and project management — and a passion for crafting — I decided to launch my very own line of custom accessories and thus Plum Polka Dot was born. Over the years, Plum Polka Dot has grown and evolved into a focus on celebrating life's special moments through our collections of party favors and printable decor. It brings me so much joy to play a small role in such events!
