Bowser Beer is a woman-owned, family run small business! Jenny Brown started Bowser Beer to make fun, healthy, high-quality American-made dog treats to give her three busy dogs and friends. After exhaustive research and doggy taste-testing, she created the Beefy Brown Ale. Over time the company has gown to include Cock-a-doodle Brew, Porky Pug Porter, and the always popular Doggy Sausage Cigars. When Jenny's daughter, Jess, joined the company to run operations, Bowser Beer became a full family business. The secret to our success is focusing on our customers - we want to create treats that we'd be delighted to share with our pups. For us, that means focusing on top food safety manufacturing standards, human-grade ingredients, and intelligent packaging. Bowser Beer is deeply involved in the community, especially around service dogs and military working dogs. We work with several partner charities - like Dogs on Deployment and Military Working Dog Team Support Association (MWDTSA) - to raise money, donate products, and help publicize their work. Jenny was even a foster-parent for a military dog through Dogs on Deployment!

Our love of dogs led us to realize that nutrition and fun is a major game changer in a dog’s life, and this is when we embarked on our journey, 15,000 feet above the sea level, to the majestic mountains of Nepal. There we found, nestled in the Himalayas, these very special yak milk dog chews. Made with just four natural ingredients, it sure was love at first sight! The foremost purveyor of exceptionally crafted five star dog treats, all made in the USA. Our entire line is all natural & preservative free, small batch artisan made treats. Every treat is wheat, corn, soy & gluten free. We use locally sourced ingredients and free-range meats. We never use any artificial colors, flavors or GMO ingredients. Just healthy & simple ingredients that dogs love. A portion of all sales goes to the Bubba Rose Foundation, our own 501(c)3 charity to help the local stray dog population. Our standard breakage policy is that we include extras with each shipment, if the monetary cost of the extras outweighs the cost of the damages (even if they are of different styles), then there is no refund or replacement issued and you are still in the positive with the extras. We do not knowingly sell our products to stores that sell puppies. We feel very strongly about adoption and run our own non-profit rescue and assist program. There are so many animals in shelters in need of a good home, it is something very dear to our hearts and the philosophy of this business. The shelf life of our products are one year at room temperature for all treats. Only exception are the perishable cakes/cupcakes, which are clearly marked in their name and have to be stored in the freezer. But we have a whole shelf stable line of cakes and cupcakes also, which have the same one year shelf life at room temperature as the rest of the line.

In 2007, I was looking at old cake mix advertisements for a client of mine and thought, "Wouldn't it be great if they made that for dogs?" That was my light bulb moment. I realized that dog owners across the globe wanted to treat their dogs like family and give them safe and healthy cakes. I started with a few flavors and worked out of my kitchen in a tiny 1 bedroom apartment in Bellevue, PA. Little by little, Puppy Cake grew and we began launching a whole line of treats. Our best sellers are the cake mixes and ice cream mixes. In 2013, we began making all of our products in our factory in Evans City, PA. But by 2020, we had outgrown our Evans City location and moved our production to small town Portersville, PA. Our factory is full of hardworking people who put their hearts into making great dog treats. Moving to Portersville was a big milestone for us and we are very proud of the modern factory we have created. I personally oversee all manufacturing of our Puppy Cake products to ensure safety and quality with every product. We only make products that are good enough for us to eat.
