Where there's smoke, there's a fest!! Smokin’ Buttz BBQ Food Truck, some of the best BBQ on wheels in Middle Tennessee, was established in 2014 by husband-and-wife duo John and Mylica Cathey. The Big Jr’s Sauces were inspired and created by Pitmaster John Cathey. John’s passion for cooking and creating great food started as a child while working in his family’s restaurant. In 2019 John began to craft the concoction that would soon become Big Jr’s Buttz Sauce. The Buttz Team started using the sauce on their food truck. After receiving rave reviews from customers, John went back in the kitchen and created two more sauces Big Jr’s Hot Buttz Sauce and Big Jr’s Smokin’ White Sauce. In 2020 after continued demand from customers for more sauce the Buttz Team made the decision to start bottling their sauces. Smokin’ Buttz was recognized as a Music City Must by News Channel 5 for their amazing Sloppy Gut Buster Sandwich. In 2017 and 2019 they were named as Rutherford County’s Favorite Food Truck by the Daily News Journal. You can find their Buttz Sauces at 2 Tennessee Tribune Stores located at the Nashville BNA Airport. They also sell their sauces at the Basement Marketplace and local farmer’s market.
