Unlike typical cider, our family recipe marries cranberry and citrus juices with an exquisite blend of spices. Add your favorite spirits for a special treat! Our family is certain you will find comfort in every heated or iced cup of Hot Ruby, time and time again. Ruby was born in Mabelle, Texas. In 1950, she and her husband Roy established their home on a South Plains Texas farm. Like most farm wives, her days were full, providing a good home for her husband who worked long hours farming cotton and their children. This included much cooking, and Ruby raised three daughters and a son on good home cooking with recipes shared between other farm wives and relatives. A favorite, considered a family tradition, was the cranberry cider Ruby made from fresh cranberries, pineapple, citrus and cinnamon and cloves. Ruby loved God, family, friends and gatherings including each of those! When entering her home, you could smell the cranberry cider simmering on the stove and feel the love she had for all who entered. When Ruby began making cranberry cider for her family years ago, she didn’t know the cranberries she cooked and the love she added would be enjoyed by so many people for years to come.
