Richie Designs is a boutique design and letterpress studio located in Long Beach, Ca. Owner, Richele Silva, is a print and greeting card lover and the woman behind the curtain. She often describes her printing career as a hobby gone awry, when she began printing classes during her first career in advertising. We know she really just likes to hang out with Stella, her Vandercook Proofing Press making really cool stuff. We only use 100% tree free, cotton paper. The cotton is left over from the garment industry which means no additional water or growing is required. It’s fluffy and amazing to touch, almost like fabric. Our greetings serve multiple purposes, encouragement to a friend, a quirky take on something funny. Richele designs for needs that come up naturally, often turning real life conversations into her greeting sentiments. Richele has been featured on notable sites such as Rachel Zoe’s, The Zoe Report, Brides Magazine, Cool Hunting and Oh So Beautiful Paper. Richele lives with her non-artsy husband in Belmont Heights, Long Beach.

In 1996, Alan Harnik, Vanessa's father, offered her a position at Notes & Queries, a family business. This presented an enticing opportunity: assisting with customer service and frequent travel to London, one of Vanessa's beloved cities. Prior to this, Vanessa had dedicated herself to meaningful pursuits. She volunteered with Magic Me, an esteemed charity connecting children with elderly residents through collaborative art projects. Her passions also extended to the arts, having studied weaving and textile design in Indonesia and papermaking in college. Vanessa had envisioned a career dedicated to international charity work, far from the family business. Yet, nearly three decades later, she cherishes her role at Notes & Queries. She finds immense satisfaction in curating and selling exquisite paper and stationery from exceptional artists to a network of independent retailers and strong community businesses. These products, often costing less than a cup of coffee, bring joy to countless individuals. Reflecting on this journey, Vanessa recognizes the profound impact of beautifully designed greeting cards and paper goods on people's lives. She deeply values the opportunity to share this passion and artistry with others and feels incredibly lucky to lead Notes & Queries.

Sending handwritten greeting cards to my friends, family and colleagues is something I have done for as long as I can remember. I believe nothing shows someone is thinking of you more than when you are the recipient of a beautiful card. Every one of our designs has been carefully curated to give all the feels for every occasion!

It all started with a homemade birthday card I made for Alan. He loved it so much he couldn’t resist showing it to neighbors and friends. I then started using my photographs to make cards for friends and family. Everyone loved the cards and said we should start a business. Sun Day Greetings was born! I loved shooting pictures but worked as a graphic designer. Now I am able to combine my two passions into one profession. Alan, who holds an MBA, worked in various areas of finance and business. Growing weary of the corporate world, he dreamed of running his own business. However, he never saw himself as a salesman. Alan’s passion and enthusiasm for these cards made the sales role come naturally and he is absolutely sincere when he talks about them. I cannot do what he does and he cannot do what I do. This makes us a great team. So here we are, mom and pop, following our dreams with a home based business that we love. Our main line is Sun Day Greetings and our newest line is Crazy Daisy. Crazy Daisy is an illustrated line using cute, quirky images that I draw by hand digitally. Alan and I have a lot of fun and thoroughly enjoy creating and selling our cards. We hope that you will enjoy them too!

It all began with Gina’s love of stationery and pretty paper, which she discovered as a young girl, having her own set of personalized note cards. Several years later, while doing house portraits in ink, she reproduced the illustrations on note cards for her clients. Soon after, her artistic interest turned to florals, which she drew, printed on card stock and spot painted each by hand with watercolor. She sold them to local gift shops. With encouragement from family and friends, Gina started her greeting card company with 12 designs. Now, 40 years later as creative director, Gina enjoys working with freelance artists from around the country. Each contributes a unique talent, bringing a broad range of art styles to Gina B Designs. Gina B Designs is a well-established designer of greeting cards, stationery and gifts, inspired by our love of art. Our products are made in the USA and include all occasion greeting cards, boxed notes, gift enclosures, perpetual calendars, desk calendars, notepads, planner notepads, art prints, invitations, kids thank yous, recipe cards, Valentine’s Day, Christmas and Spring seasonal (Easter, Mother's Day, Father's Day) cards. Pretty Alright Goods makes greeting cards, goods, and gifts for the above average. I founded the brand (formerly The Matt Butler) in 2012 when I quit my fifth grade teaching job to pursue linocut printmaking. Hand printed wall art and TOMS shoes transitioned to greeting cards and gifts in 2015 and we haven’t looked back since. In 2018 the company was rebranded to Pretty Alright Goods after we added new members to our team. We continually work to produce products that are both witty and genuine. Our mission is to make people feel good, and encourage them to make others feel good too. We like to think of ourselves as ‘thoughtful as hell’ -- with a commitment to craft, sustainable manufacturing, and putting people first in all that we do. Here’s what you get when you work with us: Really Good Letterpress: We do letterpress the traditional way: by hand, with artistry and attention to craftsmanship. Every card we manufacture is exceptionally made. High Volume: With well over half a million cards going out the door each year, we offer quality and quantity at a speed not typically associated with the “snail mail” we produce. Sustainable Manufacturing: We make responsibly. From what we use, to how we use it, and constantly looking for ways to use less. We piloted our plastic-free packaging in 2023 with great success, eliminating plastic sleeves on 66% of cards that went out the door!

Michele Lee is a designer and printer and much of her creative inspiration comes from music, memories and irreverent things. After having learned letterpress in New York City and screen printing from old art class instructions, a great fondness for printing and color experimentation developed and Lucky Horse Press was born with the mission to create general happiness for all. Michele makes all of the printed goods available in the shop from her studio in the Garden State, where some of the best things in life are easily accessible - beaches, yard sales and bowling alleys.

HI! I'm Leela, the artist behind Rainbow Vision. Since 2012 I've been following a creative hunch to see just how far things can go, and sure enough, a whole brand emerged! While offerings have ranged from greeting cards, textiles, journals, prints, and more, the birth of the Rainbow Vision planner in 2016 has been the shining star. Since its inception the planner has had many evolutions, but the bones and mission have been the same; helping creative people pursue their gifts. I am deeply inspired by other artists and anyone with a wild idea in their head. I admire the people who can just be themselves without hesitation. I strive to be this person, and I know many others do too. I know the creative process can be beautifully chaotic, so I've made a tool to keep you organized and inspired. Rainbow Vision planners are structured but never stifling. Artistic, but also productive and ...maybe a little weird. Other inspirations include retro imagery ranging from the 70s-90s (I know, it's a range), wiggly lettering, bright and bold colors, and mysteries of the universe.

If there’s one thing Legacy knows about, it’s family. Our laundry list of co-working relatives includes sisters, husbands, parents, cousins, kids, and two rambunctious office pups.
