I'm Marlese. I'm a wife, mom and maker. My tiny studio is in the beautiful Boyne valley in Ireland. I hand craft pretty things that are a bit different, and a bit special. My work ranges from practical everyday pieces for the school run to elaborate statement pieces that will turn heads. All pieces are made from polymer clay. Using an intricate process called caning, I'm able to include tiny details such as leaves and flowers into the finished work. This is done entirely out of clay, no paint effects are used. The raw clay arrive to me in primary colours from which I mix every colour and shade you see in my work. This material is very light making it a joy to wear, even in large sizes. I love the whole process; from that original spark of an idea, through the design drawings, colour choices and finally the making of something unique. Inspiration often comes during family walks in nature. Proof that work and play can mix quite nicely. After years of working for 'the man' and wearing a suit, I now spend my time in kaftans; creating unique jewellery and loving the general chaos of my life.
