About Trees Have Feelings

Trees Have Feelings is a magical forest of whimsical hand-drawn STORY TREES, and songbirds. Tracy Mazuer is a Bellingham, WA artist and uses an assortment of pen, ink, charcoal and water color to create each tree and songbird. In what she describes as a "magical process," their form, colors, name, and personal story emerge as the tree does, giving each of my trees a unique story and name, much like we all have. Until 4 years ago I did not know, or believe, that I could draw. For 30 years I had been a television producer, writer and director. My last show, in 2019, was in Phoenix and the work environment was incredibly toxic and dark. To not lose my mind I began doodling on my desk calendar and out of the chaos of the doodle trees emerged. Soon after, my husband closed his business, I left television and we literally followed the trees to Bellingham, WA. We landed the week that Covid shut everything down and didn't know a soul. We spent the time building our website and online store and finally began taking my art to local markets the last week of July 2021. What I have found the most rewarding is the connection that my art has made with people that come into the booth. We have had laughter, tears and the most magical moments.Read their story
