David Bradley Chocolatier has been producing gourmet hand-crafted chocolates for over 45 years. Originally named Sophisticated Chocolates, the business was started by Bob and Marcy Hicks, and Bob’s mother Alma. The family had always loved sharing delicious food and conversation with family and friends. In 1977, when Alma started looking for a business to start, it seemed natural that it would be something food oriented. They all decided that gourmet chocolates and gifts would be an exciting and fun business to run. The business grew very quickly, and soon Bob and Marcy enlisted the help of their three teenage children Christine, David and Bradley. During the busy holiday season the whole family could be found at their chocolate factory making and packaging chocolates and gifts, sometimes late into the night. With each season and year, Bob and Marcy’s three children became more involved and knowledgeable about the business. Today, Bob and Marcy are retired, but still enjoying being involved with the business and the friendships with customers who have been with them for multiple decades. Christine is now running the business and has successfully expanded it into a multi-channel sales operation developing new product lines every year. Employing over 50 New Jersey residents, their hand-made chocolates can be found in their spacious factory store, their website, in many retail and supermarket chains as well as over 500 small businesses like you!Read their story
