We started roasting coffee in 1993 because we believed that people wanted and deserved better tasting coffee. By roasting the best coffee in the world, we start with the best class of arabica coffee beans, Specialty Grade 1 Arabica, commonly known as the top 2% of arabica grown in the world. We then take our proprietary air roasting process and roast the beans to perfection. In order to consistently obtain this high-quality coffee, we contracted with our importer for 27 years; they work directly with small family farms in the growing regions. We selected our importer based on their strong ethical practices and continuation on helping develop the plantations. We gladly pay a premium for our arabica beans - as this ensures a good living for the workers and allows the farm to grow with us. We're not different from so many who have yearned to build something and to connect with folks, and we took on the challenge that growing an emerging business can bring. It's a lot of work. But it's also been crazy rewarding. If you were wondering, Steamm's original formula is the brainchild of an American who used to visit his grandfather in Italy as a child. He'd make the trip with his family, fly halfway around the world, and noticed how universal espresso was in the old country. It was a notion that stuck with him. And Steamm is also the byproduct of a team who honed our skills (in part) working with chocolate (which can be similarly temperamental to coffee). In our first several months, we've rolled out three flavors (Steamm Original, Steamm Lite and Limited Edition Steamm Brown Sugar Cinnamon) with more flavors and iterations on the way.
