As a small girl growing up in a little southern delta town of Yazoo City, Mississippi, the kitchen was my center of the universe. Every special memory I have as a young girl are from the kitchen of our two-story century old rambling home. All the women in my family on both sides were excellent bakers. Nanny and Betsy Bug...the bearers of Lizzie's Cheese Straw recipe...made some of the best fudge and divinity in the county. My mother's rolls were well known throughout the town and she even had a "rolI list"...a list that you better hope you were on! It was this simple southern lifestyle where I was taught early on that the best gifts were those from homemade family recipes made with love and given with joy. Baking my treasured family recipes is my way of keeping true to my Southern roots. With my grandmother and aunt...Nanny and Aunt Betsy Bug... cheese straws recipe, I proudly carry on their tradition with every fresh batch of Lizzie's Cheese Straws. Our cheese straws are made with real butter and cheese. These mouth-watering cheddar snacks can be found at any church supper, showers, tailgate parties, weddings or social event. Well known in the South as the perfect party food appetizer, you may serve them in baskets or on your finest silver. My mother used to say if cheese straws were not on your wedding reception table, you will be discussed in the society section of the town paper. Brewer's is an Upcycled cracker and chip company driven to reducing food waste in the craft brewing industry. Spent grains are a valuable by-product from the beer making process. When making beer, brewers steep super high-quality grains, like barley, in water. They then strain this mixture, keeping the liquid to make beer and discard the "spent" grains. Turns out, these grains are still incredibly flavorful and the steeping process actually unlocks valuable nutrients. We recycle these grains into our crackers and chips. Our goal is to rise above other cracker companies by providing our customers with an honest, healthy, sustainable, and delicious product. Ever since I was a young boy I have felt most comfortable in the kitchen. My father owned a bagel store so I grew up in and around the food industry. Eventually I followed this path and became a cook and forager, working in some of the country's top farm to table restaurants and dedicating myself to local food. Having been in the food and beverage industry for years, I befriended brewers from around the country. I found that we all had one common struggle; food waste. We all hated wasting product. When biking to work one day in Brooklyn, New York, I witnessed thousands of pounds of spent brewers grains from a local brewery being thrown out, right outside of an adjacent bakery. The smell of the fresh grains and the bakery next door led me to wrack my mind for what could be to save it!!

We launched our business in 2019 when our dad, Sherman, retired from Chrysler. Dad had been making the crackers for family get-togethers for a long time using a family recipe that comes from Tennessee. Accordingly, we named our product "Sherman's Tennessee Hot Crackers".

Jocelyn & Co. was designed to provide gift basket and box curators with a high-quality product in attractive packaging that works in all gift basket designs. With over 20 years of experience in the gift basket industry, her passion is demonstrated through her daily adventures to help uplift the gift basket industry and the launch of Jocelyn & Co. is a demonstration of her efforts.
Rustic Bakery, Inc. was started on a whim in 2005 by Carol LeValley & Josh Harris. The couple found their passion for baking in a simple sourdough flatbread cracker that Carol would whip up for friends. They stopped at the San Francisco Ferry Building outlet of Cowgirl Creamery and mentioned to owners Sue Conley and Peggy Smith that the cheeses deserved artisan crackers. The Cowgirls bit, literally, into a sourdough flatbread and immediately placed an order for 50 cases. So, the bakers scrambled to find commercial kitchen space in their hometown of Novato, which they outgrew in the first week, struggling to keep up with more orders while working with a rolling pin and standard convection oven. It was an around-the-clock effort. Josh would mix all of the dough, and Carol would shape and bake the flatbreads. In January 2006, Rustic Bakery Inc. showed their wares at the annual Fancy Food Show in San Francisco, where industry buyers discovered the crackers and suddenly every cheese place in America wanted them. A cracker is simply flour, water, and salt. But ours have leaven, and rise slowly and ferment like bread, using our same 20-year-old sourdough starter.
