Established in Montreal in 2015, Nowabar, ran by Founding President Mariline, aims to create and formulate a range of eco-friendly, active, and efficient cleaning products. Our goals are to allow our valued customers and their communities to benefit from safe, eco-friendly products, while also reducing water waste in both the production and shipping of our creations. Our environmental-focused approach places Nowabar in the forefront of Montreal’s (and Canada’s) ecological cleaning industry. When we learned that many common household products had nasty ingredients in them and left piles of plastic waste, we knew we had to do better. Our collection of self care + home essentials make #doingbetter easy. Our goal is simple: replace everyday items with the best reusable or biodegradable alternative that we can find. Our standards are higher to protect people + the planet. All of our products are made with natural ingredients like olive oil, aloe and essential oils. We don't use petroleum products, toxins, artificial colours or fragrances. We don't test on animals and our products are vegan. Our reusable containers are made with stainless steel and are completely custom to Better Basis. Our self care are packaged in compostable paper, and our refills are recycled paper with a recycled plastic liner. We're not perfect, but we're committed to #doingbetter. Element Essentials is a brand of non-toxic cleaning essentials that are intentionally formulated and packaged without fillers, excess water, air, or single-use plastic. Our brand merges environmental responsibility with cleaning efficacy. Our household cleaning essentials offer a sustainable solution for cleaning needs with products in a solid and concentrated form. How It All Started: Zero Waste MVMT was born out of a desire to do better—for our planet and our future. Founded in 2019 by Zac and Janelle, the idea came after nearly a year of traveling and witnessing firsthand the global waste crisis. In regions with limited waste management, they saw plastic polluting beaches, gathering in makeshift landfills, and even burned along roadsides. These experiences inspired Zac and Janelle to create change at the source—by designing eco-friendly alternatives that prevent waste and pollution from the start. As I made the leap into starting our communities only refill shop I started creating our own nontoxic and low waste products that are a hit in our community. Hello I’m Bonnie, the maker behind Make Nice Company. I’m happy you're here! I started Make Nice Company when I wasn’t able to find an alternative to dish soap in plastic bottles. My partner and I were switching out our body wash and shampoos with their zero-waste solid soap alternatives and I wasn’t able to find anything for my dishes. I figured, why not try to make it? This became a whole deep dive into learning to make soap, figuring out and testing what the best recipe would be to cut grease, and what the ideal shape would be when using it. I wanted the 100% natural ingredients to be simple, nothing you can’t pronounce, and vegan. After many months of making samples and testing them with friends, I finally got to Make Nice Company's Solid Dish Soap. Each cube is handmade and packaged by me! Outside of soaping, I'm an apparel designer and rock climber. Hopefully you'll enjoy following my journey, there's more exciting things to come! From my sink to yours, - Bonnie
