Made Market Co., founded in 2014, is the creation of a mother-daughter duo upon the opening of their flagship mercantile, Be Made. Jordan, Sue’s daughter, is a graphic and interior designer and loves the challenge each new day brings at Be Made. What other place can you design, create, showcase, and sell so many items you love? Welcome to Studio Portmanteau! We are happily based out of a bright, cheerful studio space in a historic building in downtown Grants Pass, Oregon, USA. Each product sold in the shop is a one-of-a-kind creation designed and made by our team in the Pacific Northwest. Most of our items are hand-pressed with metal dies on a trio of vintage foil stampers that are the mainstay of our studio. We combine eight years of foil stamping expertise with strong design insight to bring you high quality orders that fit your needs. Our work is embossed / impressed into the paper, wood, linen, or leather surface using our hand-operated presses, with a wide variety of foil colors to choose from, for a beautiful, classic, lasting result. Our own design work is inspired by a passion for the simple things in life - stargazing, beachcombing, gardening, reading, cooking, the great outdoors - plus a fascination with vintage things and an obsession with all things golden. We also offer custom text and logo engraving. When you purchase one of our goods, you are acquiring a carefully crafted, bespoke item that was created with love and care by the Studio Portmanteau team. Wickman was created in 1999 by Bryce Huie with the design and invention of the Wickman candle tool. The business was a side business until the original wick trimmer with debris catching trays was added in 2001, at which time Wickman became a full time occupation for Bryce. Since then Wickman has been sold around the globe and is recognized as a premier candle accessory supplier to the gift shop industry. Form and function are taken into consideration when designing new and unique candle accessories. The original wick trimmer's elegant design and ergonomic shape instantly captured the attention of candle lovers, giving Bryce the creative confidence to expand the line further. Bryce enjoys solving problems, imagining and creating better solutions, and adding an aesthetic component to whatever he designs.
