Balance swimwear is made for all lifestyles and bodies. We pair our swimwear with guided meditations to help you develop lasting self-love habits that make your days at the beach as renewing as they should be. Our swimwear is designed and manufactured in New York City’s garment district by workers that earn a fair wage. The fabric is sourced from Italy and printed in the USA. We chose Italian lycra because it looks and feels great on your body and also holds up to wear and tear like a champ. It’s UV and Chlorine-resistant and made from recycled yarns, too. Balance was born from my love for the beach, and from my belief that swimwear should bring joy, not anxiety. After graduating from college, my work in the art world prompted a move from New York City to Kingston, Jamaica, where I fell in love with the culture, in particular the love that people had for the beach. It was in Jamaica that I made my first attempt at designing swimwear, taking my patterns to local seamstresses. After moving back to New York, I continued taking design classes at FIT (while still working a 9-5). I also became a trained meditation teacher under Dr. Joe Loizzo, specializing in Metta or Loving Kindness practice. It wasn't the traditional fashion designer's path and it wasn’t always easy but it inspired me to build what Balance is today.

I started SUPESU as a means to provide elegant comfort to modern women at an affordable price, all the while promoting positive well-being and daily comfort. Our brand motto is "Confidence is Comfort" and SUPESU (pronounced su-PEH-su) means space so you can have the space to comfortably be you (while still looking good!). Our team's not huge, but we're based all over the world, from Toronto, Seoul to Shanghai working to make the best comfortwear brand in the world.

Hazel & Olive is named after my great grandmother Hazel Olive. Grandma Hazel taught me everything about fashion and passed down her love of sewing to me! Our head designer Lori Zhao, who was born in China, and moved to Toronto after a long journey from exploring both east and west of the world. She founded Visual Mood in Toronto and takes her inspiration from both the beautiful oriental East and the dynamic yet chic West. I created TA3 because I wanted to feel confident in a swimsuit. Why do we wear shapewear under our clothes, but when we're most exposed, we wear the flimsiest, most shapeless garments ever? It took me almost 3 years and hundreds of prototypes & fittings to create something waterproof that really supports and sculpts. I've been a fashion designer forever; my designs have been worn by the biggest celebrities in the world, but making women love the way they look in a swimsuit has been the greatest thrill of my career.
