As soon as I finished my studies specializing in the wood industry, I started working in a company that manufactured plywood. The main technique for manufacturing this material is the peeling of wood (see the section “Technique”) Wood peeling is, according to its original definition: “Unrolling wood like a roll of paper...” Assimilate wood to paper? A utopian idea? ¨^o) In any case, an idea that inspired me and made me think for a long time! 10 years later, with the determination and the will to concretize all the thoughts related to this during all this time, HIRONWOODS was born! And so it is in the Jura, between two villages in a canton beautifully named “Le Val d'Amour”, that our workshop is located. All this in an environment that is completely consistent with its activity: surrounded by nature! Surrounded by forests, vineyards and orchards, we handcraft our card products such as postcards, bookmarks, and even envelopes... All this in WOOD! Traditional card making is thus revisited by the originality of our support and our methods.
