Corey Moranis is a Canadian designer who handcrafts lucite jewelry and accessories from her Toronto studio. She sees the things we wear as mood stabilizers, comfort objects, talismans, and sources of strength. Her playful and prismatic pieces explore how light interacts with materials and bodies. They’re moved by the ways the universe says hi: the sun’s sparkles on the water winking hello in morse code, the moon following you home, your shadow projecting a path forward. Light and shadow, reflections and rainbows are all incorporeal; Corey Moranis pieces are a way to embody them. ORDERING – Each piece is made to order in our Toronto studio. My acquaintance with jewelry goes back to the 90s. My father is also a jeweler and every summer while my friends were on vacation, I used to work. I learned jewelry making from my real master, my father, and production from my uncle. Even though I studied finance at university, I couldn't do much in finance and I went back to jewelry. My Etsy adventure started with my interest in e-commerce and I loved it here. It's a pleasure to be a part of an understanding, kind and honest community. Being honest is important for every sector, but it is indispensable for jewelry. From the fine gold we use to the quality of craftsmanship, we work to deserve every cent our customers pay. This is how my master taught me and I am trying to raise my son in this direction. I hope I can be successful. I believe everyone has a story. jewelry is only a small part of this story. Sarah Killen Ellman is the artist and designer behind Saint Claude Saint Claude was derived from a street in the Bywater neighborhood where her first studio was located. “When I moved to New Orleans 16 years ago, I was determined to be a welder and make furniture because I love working with my hands, but the universe had something different in-store. In a Post-Katrina world, I was still searching for my place. After several different attempts, and not necessarily on purpose, Saint Claude was the natural marriage of all those tangible, artistic desires.”
