Hi, I’m Katie — a potter based in Berkshire, UK. I launched Katie L Thompson Designs in 2015 to create joyful, functional ceramics for colour-lovers and slow-living seekers. Each piece is wheel-thrown in my home studio using stoneware clay, then finished in one of my signature glossy glazes — all of which I’ve developed from scratch. These bold, vibrant colours are designed to brighten tables, homes, and moods. My forms are clean, practical, and rooted in everyday use — made to be lived with, not just looked at. Everything is crafted slowly and thoughtfully by hand: thrown on the wheel, trimmed, bisque fired, glazed, then glaze fired to 1,220°C. This process means every piece is full of subtle individuality — tactile, characterful, and made to last. My aim is to create timeless pieces that fit effortlessly into real life. Ceramics that bring a sense of calm and colour to daily routines — whether it’s a breakfast bowl that makes you smile or a mug that turns tea into a ritual.
