Louise Mulgrew is a multi-award winning publisher of eco friendly, illustrated greetings cards based in beautiful, quirky Brighton, UK. Louise launched her business in 2015 after finishing her Illustration degree, and quickly roped in her business-savvy, accountant-brained Dad, who was coming to the end of a contract at the time and was in the market for a part-time, low stress, project. For the next two years (working full-time and most weekends) Dad devoted his life to helping Louise build the solid foundations of our animal-loving, paper enterprise. Our small but mighty team has since grown to include some wonderful non-Mulgrews and a couple of studio dogs too, of course. Our cards begin as one of Louise’s original gouache and watercolour illustrations, usually capturing an adorable animal or three, before being scanned in and tweaked on Photoshop: we love a mixture of digital and analogue vibes in our cards! Our designs are then printed on to the highest quality FSC-certified boards, sourced from a paper mill in the Lake District, and are often finished with subtle gold foiling. If the last year has taught us one thing, it is that human connection is priceless and handwritten cards create moments of joy and connection all around the world, every single day.
