Welcome to Upcycle Candle Company. All our candles are 13 oz. and will burn for approximately 60 hours when the wick is kept at the appropriate 1/8" length. The vessels (former wine bottles!) come in a variety that include clear, green, and brown glass. In 2015, Heidi decided she was going to get more active and responsible about recycling materials that the family used at home such as glass, cardboard, newsprint/magazines, and plastic. When it was time to take the recycling to the dump, Dominic questioned if he could find something else to do with the glass. Dominic decided to make candles, got to work experimenting and he hand cuts and polishes each and every Upcycled Candle to this day. Upcycle Candle Company gets their wine bottles from a small winery in Raeford, NC (local to Upcycle Candle Co.). Each bottle is cleaned, cut and polished by hand. Dominic and Heidi also spent quite a bit of time on perfecting their wicks. Each Upcycle Candle wooden wick comes from scrap pieces that their father's wood/cabinet shop can no longer use. You can feel great about burning each Upcycled Candle!
