In 2001, founder Carol lost her mother to lung cancer. During that difficult time, she found peace watching pelicans glide over the ocean—a lasting symbol of comfort. Years later, she named her workspace “Pelican Place” as a tribute to that sense of tranquility. In 2019, Carol discovered her passion for candle making—a craft that allowed her to capture the warmth and peace she had always associated with Pelican Place. What began as a hobby quickly grew into a business as friends and family encouraged her to share her handcrafted candles. Inspired by their support, she founded Pelican Place & Company to create candles that bring comfort and beauty into any space. Hand-poured in small batches in Bend, Oregon, Pelican Place & Company candles are made with 100% soy wax, clean fragrances, and cotton wicks for a beautiful, worry-free burn.
