The Ruggiero family Since 1910, the Ruggiero family from Sarno (SA) have been direct growers of San Marzano DOP Tomato, a tomato famous all over the world. Who we are DANICOOP, an Agricultural Cooperative Society, was founded in Sarno, in the province of Salerno, in 1991 thanks to the will and tenacity of farmers who feel the need to combine their knowledge and the ability to cultivate San Marzano Tomato following the experiences handed down by four generations. The Ruggiero family, including Edoardo Angelo, his wife Anna Maria, and their children Pasquale, Paolo and Danilo, have been handing down their love for San Marzano DOP tomatoes since 1910. Our project DANICOOP now has 60 members and a total area of about 200 hectares, which includes among its main activities the cultivation, processing and marketing of San Marzano DOP tomatoes. She adheres to the Slow Food Presidium with regard to San Marzano tomatoes and is enrolled in the Register of Educational Farms of the Campania Region and the Colverdi of Salerno. DANICOOP meticulously follows the entire production process of San Marzano tomatoes and all other productions, supplies the seedlings to the producing members and provides them with agronomic technical assistance during the transplant, from the growth of the seedlings to the harvesting of the product.
