About Alawa Swimwear

Alawa begins as a dream of three women, a mother and two daughters. Who are passionate about fashion embark on the adventure of creating swimwear that rescues the most genuine beauty of women. Thus, with one foot in Uruguay and another in Spain, alawa takes its first steps incorporating the warm colorful breeze of the Mediterranean and the regal vastness of the Rio de la Plata. Elegance and grace are two fundamental elements in the aesthetic universe of our brand. After taking on the most avant-garde textile and design traditions of the fashion industry in Barcelona and Madrid, the first commercial collection was launched. Behind it will be three others that will define a unique proposal. Elements that are traditionally associated with “savoir faire”, as cited by the native language of haute couture, we naturally and elegantly incorporate them into “swimwear”. Lace, lace, embroidery, ruffles, drapes, textures, and other accessories, are elements of our designs. The result is a “premium” product that combines superior quality raw materials with an almost handmade workmanship. Where the garments seek to help the shaping of the female body both with their tailoring and in their aesthetic proposal. Alawa Swimwear is currently directed by Jimena Vilaró and Gabriel Zorrilla, together they design and drive the helm of a brand with a very special charm. Read their story
