Jonboy Caramels is an artisan confectionery company located in the historical Ballard neighborhood of Seattle, WA. In 2009, owners Jason Alm and Jon Sue set on a mission to create unforgettable small batch caramels using the finest Northwest and organic ingredients available. Every batch of our caramel is handmade using local cream and butter, organic cane sugar, and organic brown rice syrup (no corn syrup!). Seasonal flavors are crafted using Northwest ingredients such as raspberry and blackberry juices from local berry farms (Balsamic Berry Caramels) and Pacifique Absinthe (Absinthe with Black Salt Caramels). Shotwell Candy is my life's work and legacy. In the beginning, I started making caramel in my home kitchen at night after coming home from my day job and after my wife and three daughters were sound asleep. It was my dream. My passion. I used simple, fresh ingredients, and timeless methods to make caramel in its best possible form. Since I had a day job at the time as a corporate attorney, I would start my nightly caramel work around 8:30pm and spend the next 4-5 hours cooking, cutting, wrapping and packaging caramels. Family and friends pitched in when orders piled up and we were known to throw "shipping parties" in order to entice friends into helping us prepare shipments in exchange for food and beverage. Though the endless nights in my home kitchen and "shipping parties" are a thing of the past, I remain singularly focused on staying true to who I am and passionate about the candy you're about to enjoy. I'm reminded daily about the importance of teaching my children to dream big and to create anything they want so long as they work hard, practice patience, and stay true to themselves.

In 2006, when Jane became ill with Lymphoma for a second time, we discussed the possibility of selling her delectable caramels. I decided to take the plunge and founded Mouth Party Caramel on the commitment to help advance cancer research and cancer support services by donating a portion of our company net profits. In the years since its inception, Mouth Party Caramel has won the hearts and stomachs of many! We have expanded our production facility, added to our line of products, and grown our caramel crew.
