About Text From A Friend
5.0
Text From A Friend was created by art director Sharon Caddie when her scribbled real texts from friends appeared on social media and she got requests to turn them into cards and posters. Not one to produce a paper product without using the finest materials, she uses only the poshest of paper and a traditional hand printing technique with a hot foil press to create fine pieces of (sometimes) anti-social media. As a winner of Best Stationery Design Awards at Top Drawer, cards are just the beginning of the range, all the while reminding people to send a card because it lasts longer than a text.

Hello! I am Kate Murray; the owner, printer, designer and sole employee of Quick Brown Fox Letterpress, based in Saugerties, New York. To pay my dues before starting this business, I worked in two amazing letterpress studios for more than 10 years in NYC. When the opportunity came up to salvage and restore two presses, both in pretty bad shape, Quick Brown Fox Letterpress was born. Most of the cards that you see on this site are printed on the press that was in the worst shape, Goldie the Golding Jobber. Years and years later, I am constantly adding to her line of quirky, pun filled letterpress greeting cards. Each card is painstakingly printed one at a time, one color at a time, with immaculate registration on a late 19th Century and an early 20th century letterpress. Some people may say, "11 colors for one card?! That's a lot of colors!" I always say, "there's no such thing as too many colors."
Little Well Paper Co. was built on the belief that the world is made better when people make a tangible effort to show up for one another, express their appreciation, and help others feel seen and loved in both the brightest and darkest moments of their lives. All of our products are made by hand (with lots of love, some sweat and occasionally tears) in our Burbank, California studio. OUR PLEDGE: While this moment in history we’re currently experiencing together is neither novel nor unprecedented, it has made clear that the privilege of being able to choose to ignore issues of racial injustice is a direct barrier to the liberation of Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) in our society. We won’t be using that privilege to stay silent or apathetic. Black Lives Matter, and none of us can be free until all of us are free. With both our underlying mission and this movement towards racial justice in mind, we’re pledging to be an actively anti-racist and equality-minded company, both in the messages our products convey and in our actions behind the scenes.
"Hole in my Pocket create work with a lopsided and utterly uncynical charm that makes delighted children out of the most serious of grown-ups." Hole in my Pocket is the name I (Allistair Burt) have been producing art, film & projects under since 2001 when I first graduated and started working as an architect for a large Commercial practice. Over the next 15 years I lived a double life, working as an Architect by day and making art in my free time. As Hole in my Pocket I have worked on a vast range of unusual projects from major international exhibitions, illustration commissions, short films for TV, storytelling machines & travelling around Scotland with an air-hostess trolley full of wine. In the latter couple of years I started to develop products for retail featuring my illustrations and sense of humour and these proved so popular that in 2016 I hung up my hard hat and started in HIMP full time. We are lucky to have worked with wonderful shops like Paperchase, Olive Bonas and John Lewis but you can also find my designs in brilliant independents, galleries and museums around the world. All our paper products are printed & made in Scotland with FSC, recycled card stock to a high standard. In 2020 the bespoke collection we created for the National Trust for Scotland was shortlisted for the prestigious Cultural Enterprise Association best product award. Other clients we have produced collections for include, The National Museum Scotland, Oxford University and Fenwick.
The story of Tache Crafts is really the story of Frank and Pennie. In many ways, it’s a typical millennial love story: two young creatives meet at a music festival, then struggle to make ends meet while attempting to forge careers in uncompromising and sometimes harsh industries. Pennie was in fashion; Frank was working nine-to-five at a small web design company. Times were tough. Money was tight. For her 23rd birthday, Pennie was surprised and delighted to receive a hand-made card from Frank. It was an elaborate creation: a mounted three-dimensional cut-out of two quirky cartoon cats – a smug Tom handing a heart-shaped balloon to his unimpressed-looking feline sweetheart. It occurred to Pennie that unlike normal greetings cards, which are given merely as an accompaniment to a gift, this card really was a gift in itself. Would other people appreciate this as much as she had? She mentioned her thoughts to Frank, and – with nothing to lose - the couple decided to take a leap into the unknown. And so, in between fending off kitten attacks and re-positioning smashable items beyond the reach of scrabbling paws, Frank and Pennie started laying the plans for a company that would take the greetings card world by storm.

Award-winning Ladyfingers Letterpress is an LGBTQ+ owned-and-operated stationery & gift brand based in Colorado Springs founded by couple, Arley Torsone and Morgan Calderini. We launched our business in 2011 when to our surprise, our work went viral online! We quit our day jobs to open a small studio and we became very busy designing and printing our products by hand on presses that are older than the invention of the Model T Ford. We debuted our line at the National Stationery Show, pulled ourselves up by our bootstraps, and are proud to say that today our line of greeting cards and paper goods can be found in over 800 fine boutiques around the world. In 2016 we opened our flagship store in Colorado Springs where we also host workshops and classes and offer a wide variety of boutique stationery and locally-made, finely curated gifts. From this post we operate our letterpress and design headquarters and customers can see the presses running and witness our products being made. We believe that you don't have to be a large company to make a big impact. We take pride in making things by hand, locally, and sustainably. In recent years, we have used our platform to promote women's, LGBTQ+, POC and immigrant rights, using our "power of the press" to produce work that helps to mobilize social movements. We use our privilege as makers and business owners to create products that speak to the people and once in awhile make them laugh with a little dad joke.
Hi there! I am Cleere Cherry and I am the founder and creator of Cleerely Stated. I always feel weird talking in third person so I just wanted to say hello and so glad you are here. Cleerely Stated was formed out of my own personal need. After going through a really hard breakup, navigating my career as a young professional, and struggling with deep insecurity, I realized I was at a crossroads in my life: I could either continue to snowball and believe the lies about myself and my future or I could dig into truth and discover my God-given identity. It is through this realization that I created the first set of Scripture Cards. I knew that I needed the Word of God in my life in a very intimate and practical manner. In order to come alive again, I needed to remember where life is found. After creating these Scripture Cards and using them for myself, I had many friends and a few store owners also express interest in having a set. Now after selling over 10,000 sets of this product, it is obvious that the Lord's fingerprints were guiding me the whole time.
when you hold in your hand the soft handmade paper with deep letterpress impression, made daily at oblation papers & press, you immediately sense the rarity of the object. since 1989, ron and jennifer rich and their creative team of artisans and designers have carved out their niche with textural handmade papers beautifully suited to that letterpress bite. this soft paper is made by hand from pure cotton, sourced from recycled remnants of the garment industry. its toothy surface is beautifully suited to highlight the deep impression made by letterpress in our cards and handbound books. after macerating the recycled cotton in a hollander beater, heavy sheets of handmade paper are pulled from watery vats to print one at a time on cast iron presses... all on view from oblation’s retail paper boutique in portland, oregon. we also offer an array of custom letterpress business cards, wedding invitations, personal stationery and more. our team of skilled designers are here to make your visions come to life. feel free to reach out for more information about custom letterpress printing! oblation papers & press was founded on practicing a green approach and we follow recycling principals that focus on reuse and conservation. sustainability is in our roots and we use soy ink, wind power, and reclaimed antique letterpresses that will outlive us all!
Black Lab Studio is a modern paper and home goods studio based in Kansas City. All pieces are designed by myself, owner Stephanie Given. I started this company back in 2013 as an outlet for creativity that I couldn't let out at my 9-5 job during the day. I like to keep things modern and bold while adding a dash of humor where I can - whether it be through a quirky greeting card or custom wedding suite. I start all designs in my sketchbook using a variety of mediums, however pen and pencil is normally my go to. I then finish up designs in Illustrator to make things bright and filled with a whole lotta color. When I'm not designing, I'm normally stuffing my face with cheese dip, doting on my two pups or watching really awful reality tv. I try to keep all of printing and production within the US and mostly within my hometown, good ol' Kansas City. I think it's so important to help out the other amazing artists within the community by using them when I can for all of Black Lab's printing needs.
We create sassy & a little badass-y greeting cards & gifts. Rhubarb is owned & operated by Anita in the heart of the Annapolis Valley in Nova Scotia, Canada. Anita's grandma, Millie, was quick-witted & sassy herself & was often throwing out great one-liners. Millie passed away in 1989 after a painful battle with Cancer. 25 year later, in 2014, RHUBARB PAPER CO. was born, in part due to Anita's lifelong love of stationery, in part to keep the memory of Grandma Millie & her wonderful sense of humor alive.
rockdoodles was born out of an after-work hobby that exploded on Instagram when they were picked up by Cosmopolitan. Maker, Julia Rockowitz, started posting daily punny doodles in 2017 and they quickly took the internet by storm. Julia has always had a love for snail mail and thought there was no better way to materialize her doodles than creating a greeting card line of her own. Follow along @rockdoodles for daily punny doodles!
Confetti Riot was founded in 2013 by Kathryn Wakefield. A few years after receiving her BFA in graphic design, Kathryn knew that doing all of her creating at a computer wasn't going to cut it, so she started the business to give herself a tactile outlet to create. Marrying her design skills and love for printmaking, she took to creating textiles that would then become home goods.
