In 2008 global trend-spotter Tim Talley was inspired by a pair of colorful sneakers he saw in a shop window in Harajuku, Tokyo, Japan. For years Tim had been paid by employers to trend-spot around the globe and then design lines of apparel and accessories for them based on his inspiration. This time Tim was trend-spotting for himself. The inspiration of the sneakers laced in 6 colors at once drove Tim to create the worlds first-ever, and dual-patented modular-no-tie laces. uLace is uniquely made from true-woven yarn-dyed polyester and specially calibrated "laced-feel' lycra. Cathy Holcombe was born to start Colorado Natural Balms. While she was still at the tender age of 4 years old, one of her favorite pastimes was to gather up her parents' leather shoes to clean and condition them. (It was then her parents started to suspect they did not have a normal child on their hands!). Also born with a lifelong love of horses but raised in the suburbs, as a teen she would condition anyone's leather saddles she knew that had horses, in exchange for riding time. As an adult, Cathy has always valued quality ingredients in her food and skin care products, but one day it dawned on her that there were no natural leather conditioners. In fact, many leather conditioners and cleaners had in their fine print things like: "Not for use on skin. Keep away from pets and children. If ingested call poison control." Yikes! After doing extensive research including studying what was used historically to keep leather conditioned as well as receiving training at the Leather Research Laboratory at the University of Cincinnati, Cathy came up with a formula that ultimately became Colorado Leather Balm and the latest, Hard Working Hand Balm. The formula is all natural and PH balanced, based off of ingredients used for 100s of years because they work: tallow, lanolin oil, beeswax and essential oils. These natural ingredients were abandoned by manufacturers after WW11 because of their higher costs compared to cheap petroleum and chemical based ingredients. Until now!

Our Mission In the early days, Lock Laces® found their home on the shoes of triathletes looking to shave seconds off their transition times and runners frustrated by interruptions caused by untied laces. As the word spread about this cool elastic no tie lacing system, we quickly found that our product could benefit people in more ways than we could have ever imagined. Every day we love hearing how our shoelaces can help foster independence in individuals with fine motor skill impairments or keep busy moms on the go. In December of 2023, Avery, who was nine at the time, decided she wanted to create a world of fun! She decided to sell the shoe charms and straw toppers and soon quickly realized she had stumbled upon something great! Since then she has teamed up with her mom, Audrey, and the duo have expanded into the online retail space, have booths in multiple stores & now offer wholesale for charms & straw toppers! The brand has grown so well that even Dad has joined the team! Our objective is to establish a sanctuary where individuals of all ages can find security, acceptance, and the freedom to express their true selves. This envisioned space is meant to be a gathering spot where friends can come together to craft unique and enjoyable gifts for one another. Simultaneously, it serves as a haven for solitary pursuits like reading, providing a serene backdrop to unwind. This environment is designed to foster meaningful connections and offer solace and joy amidst the tumultuous backdrop of today's world.
