In Search of a Lost Art. Twenty years ago, we made our first football inspired by the 1930’s models we loved from Portobello market. We began working with a family whose workshop has been handcrafting leather footballs for generations since the earliest ones they made for the British officers in Punjab. Today, our initial collection of footballs has developed into a comprehensive collection of sporting goods inspired by the aesthetic code of gentleman’s sports, and a handsome Home Gym collection. Over the years, the traditional savoir-faire of our artisans evolved to include the bags in our Voyage collection. It was an intuitive extension towards more objects of utility. You will find in our Voyage collection the travel bags that we grew up with, be it a bag that has always been in our family or yours, or bags we have seen in photographs from an era that makes us dream, where the useful and the beautiful were synonymous. At John Woodbridge Makers, everything begins with the primary materials. From the very first day, we have prioritized the use of the best leather we can find. We use only full-grain cow leather that is polished by hand to a vintage patina that has become our signature finish. We accord great importance to respectful production. Our production is human-sized and human-paced, and we work to keep our know-how dynamic and alive in order to continue creating goods that please and adapt to your needs.
