History of Freddie Lee’s Ghetto Sauce started in 1986 when Freddie wanted something different on his barbeque meat. So he created the sauce and it made its way around family and friends for years. People suggested we should sell the sauce but Freddie did not think much of it but told me about when he got home from work. I thought it was a great ideal but we toss it around and prayed on it. Then one day we were making sauce for family and friends and when went outside on the front porch to escape the heat in the kitchen and rest. While we were resting outside a police chase straight down Kossuth Ave and Turner while the little girls were jumping rope in the street. No one was hurt but Freddie look at me and said honey one day GOD is going to bless us to get out of the ghetto and at that time we were thinking about a business name and a name for the sauce. I said to Freddie call your sauce Ghetto Sauce and his reply I can’t do that he said you are making it so but your name on it and call it Freddie Lee’s Ghetto Sauce and we prayed on the name and it just stayed with us. It is an all-purpose gourmet sauce that can be used on or with anything you can image food purpose. We are not being negative, racist, or degrading to anyone race or nationality with the name Freddie Lee’s Ghetto Sauce. Freddie Lee’s American Gourmet Sauce came about when we tried to get it in Schnucks a large local store in St. Louis and we change the name to get it in Schnucks.
