We know entrepreneurs like you rely on much more than the Faire marketplace to manage your broader retail strategy. And for a large portion of independent retailers and brands that buy and sell on Faire, one of the most essential of these platforms is Shopify.
We built an initial Shopify integration in 2021, giving brands the ability to sync inventory and orders and retailers the means to easily sync Faire products into their Shopify account. Many customers have since told us there’s plenty more we could do to make managing a business across both platforms even easier. That’s why we’re partnering with Shopify to create a more deeply integrated experience. In case you missed it, here’s an email from Faire co-founder and CEO Max Rhodes sharing the news.
Our Shopify partnership kicks off today with the launch of our official Faire buyer and seller apps in the Shopify App Store. These new apps build upon our existing order-syncing and inventory tools while adding new features that save time and reduce tedious, manual updates between systems. They also represent a new avenue for business growth—it will be easier than ever for Shopify merchants to shop from or sell to our community of independent brands and retailers.
Retailers who use Shopify to manage their inventory will be able to use the new buyer app to:
- Discover high-quality products from more than 100,000 brands
- Seamlessly add and sync products ordered on Faire to their Shopify account
Brands on both platforms will be able to use the new seller channel to:
- Pair their Shopify and Faire accounts in just a few clicks
- Automatically sync order information between Faire and Shopify, making cross-channel selling even easier and more convenient
- Ensure that key inventory, fulfillment, and catalog details update in real time, helping avoid backorders and oversold products
Both apps are available today to all Shopify customers, and we’ll be working closely with our partners at Shopify to add more new features in the coming months. That includes giving brands the ability to easily enable a Faire Direct widget on their Shopify e-commerce website to secure 0% commission on qualifying orders, as well as display a free Faire-powered Stockist Map to help consumers shop their products from brick-and-mortar stores around the world.
Check out our brand and retailer FAQs below to learn more about what is and isn’t changing as a result of our partnership, and stay tuned as we collaborate with Shopify to create more seamless access across our two platforms.
FAQs for brands
I’m excited about the new Shopify app for sellers! How do I get it?
If you’re ready to update your app and start taking advantage of all its new features, simply visit the new Faire: Sell Wholesale app listing page in the Shopify App Store and download it today. Don’t worry: All your current settings and preferences will automatically transfer over to the new app.
Will these updates change the fees I pay on Faire and/or Shopify?
No. This partnership will not impact your fees on Faire. These will remain the same as the structure you have now.
I’m not ready to upgrade to the new integration quite yet. Do I have to make any changes to my current one?
At this time, you do not have to make any changes to your existing Shopify integration. We’ll send an email in the coming weeks with detailed instructions on how to update your existing app with any details you need to know.
Is there a deadline in place for moving from the old app to the new one?
Not currently, but we will eventually sunset the legacy integration. While we will notify you in advance, the best way to avoid possible disruptions down the line is to migrate to the new Faire Seller Channel once we share instructions in the coming weeks. You’ll not only have access to the newest features, but this is where all future updates to the app will be made.
Will I be negatively impacted (e.g., ranking) if I don’t use the Shopify integration?
Whether or not you leverage the Shopify integration is entirely up to you and your business, and there won’t be any negative impact on brands that decide it’s not for them. That said, if you are a Shopify user, we highly recommend using the new integration to sync your orders, inventory, and full catalog across systems, so your buyers always have the most accurate information.
Will any of the other Faire integrations I rely upon be impacted by the new Shopify integration?
No. Any other third-party tools you’ve connected with Faire will continue to work just as they do today.

Will the new integration work with my third-party inventory management system?
This integration will not impact any other integrations you are currently using through Shopify or Faire.
Are there any changes to the functionality of the integration?
Enhancements to the integration are coming soon.
