Last week concluded our first online trade show event, Faire Summer Market, where thousands of retailers and brands came together to kick off the holiday buying season and celebrate local retail. We’re so motivated by this community’s ability to adapt to a new way of trade show buying, and we look forward to continuing to innovate this virtual experience, together.
Today, we’re excited to share some notable results and trends from the event.
Participation and savings
Over 50% of all brands on the Faire marketplace participated and received orders from thousands of retailers across all 50 states and 10 Canadian provinces. We’re excited to say that over 26,000 new relationships were made between brands and retailers during the event.
With nearly 46,000 orders made, the average retailer purchased from 3-4 brands to stock their shop. In total, retailers saved $2.4 million with brand discounts and Faire promotion matching.
Buying trends
We saw some interesting category and product trends from monitoring purchase and search data.
The most purchased brand value tags were women-owned, handmade, and made in the USA, reiterating guest speaker Patti Carpenter’s prediction on a return to transparent and high-quality local goods. Among some of the top search queries during the two-day event were candles, Christmas, and fall decor, and our retailers spent 15% of their budgets on seasonal items.
