The point-of-sale (POS) system is a critical component of any retail business, and there are many considerations to make when choosing the right POS system for your business. Beginning in September 2023, Shopify’s point-of-sale system became the preferred solution for Faire retailers, and tens of thousands of small businesses are using both platforms—and all the integrations that we now offer—to save time and drive more effective business operations.
Why is Shopify Faire’s preferred POS?
Shopify POS allows retailers to sell in person and online from one place—with a unified view of inventory, customers, and orders for their entire business. Shopify users can also analyze store performance with user-friendly tools, accept all major payment types instantly and securely with a low flat rate, and access hundreds of apps in the Shopify App Store. Upgrading to POS Pro provides access to additional benefits including unlimited POS staff accounts with controlled access to sensitive information, performance tracking, advanced inventory management and reporting tools, and richer analytics.
Shopify offers several POS hardware options as well, including Shopify POS Go for portable selling, the Shopify POS Terminal for countertop payments, and a range of POS card readers. Shopify is offering an exclusive free trial to any Faire retailers who want to try out these tools.
How Faire’s integration with Shopify can save you time
Faire’s Shopify integration simplifies order management and reduces manual labor by letting you either sync everything automatically when you place orders on Faire or quickly customize and transfer products and images exactly the way you want to see them in your Shopify admin. Some of the newly upgraded features include:
- The ability to edit product information like names, descriptions, and tags before adding products to Shopify, so your new inventory is tailored for your shop
- More comprehensive transfer of data from Faire to Shopify, including all product images
- Added flexibility for managing products with multiple variants
- New and improved UI that enables you to manage products order by order
What retailers are saying about the integration
Retailers love using Shopify POS because of the streamlined inventory management, reliable hardware, flexible payments, data security, quick payouts, and 24/7 support. Sandy from Glossier in New York City says Shopify POS has unlocked omnichannel experiences for her shop, such as seamlessly bringing up customers’ online purchases in the retail store. “The POS is also reliable and user-friendly,” she says, “allowing us to spend more time building differentiating features for our business and less time on tech support.”
The integration with Faire has inspired other retailers to start using Shopify POS for the first time, including Clover + Bee in Birmingham, Alabama. “We absolutely love Faire’s Shopify integration,” says Bryson from Clover + Bee. “The time we save by using it is a big part of why we prefer to source inventory on Faire rather than anywhere else. The integration also inspired us to switch our point-of-sale system over to Shopify so we can take full advantage of the new features. It was a big job to switch, but we are already seeing the benefits—it’s been so worth the effort!”
